How can I tell if an article is scholarly?
Answer
Here are some things to look for:
*It should be rather long. It will most certainly be more than 5 pages long and probably more than 10 pages.
*It should include author affiliations. After the names of the author(s) you will see a reference to where they are working. This is often a university.
*The wording of the article will include vocabulary that is specific to that particular field.
*There will be an extensive bibliography included with the article.
