What is the difference between borrowing from I-Share, and Borrow from Other Libraries?

SXU belongs to a consortium of Illinois academic libraries called CARLI. All the libraries within this consortium share their collections with each other through the interlibrary loan program called I-Share.
When you Borrow from Other Libraries, you are borrowing items that are not held within I-Share, but throughout the nation or farther afield. These items are listed in the catalog as held at Libraries Worldwide. All article requests go through the Borrow from Other Libraries option, with a very quick turnaround time. Books can take longer to arrive, depending on the distance and time in the mail. Borrow from Other Libraries is often called inter-library loan, and uses the Illiad software system.
So, in a nutshell, books from CARLI libraries are ordered through I-Share. Everything else is ordered through Borrow from Other Libraries.
