Q. I need to find images online that I can use in my presentations. Where do I find them?

There are many sources of high quality images that have licence for individual use and/or remix. Look for those that have Creative Commons (cc) licences. These licences have different levels of permissions to use but they all require that you provide the source of the image  (i.e. attribution) in your paper, presentation, website or blog.

Here are some of the sources:

  1. Yahoo Images (in the left column you'll see types of licences)
  2. Flickr.com (the Advanced Mode allows to limit to creative commons licence) and Flickr: Creative Commons
  3. Wikimedia Commons
  4. Google Advanced Image Search (the option is not visible in the default Google Image search).
